A Timeless, Family-Centred Wedding at Harvest Moon | Rebecca & Duncan | 06.09.2025
Some weddings feel extra special from the moment you arrive, and Rebecca and Duncan’s day at Harvest Moon Weddings was one of those. These two are true high school sweethearts. They have grown up together, travelled the world side by side, adopted a house full of pets (fondly known as “the zoo at 62”), and are clearly just as in love as when they first met. Their wedding day was every bit as magical, family-centred, and fun as you’d imagine.
A Creative, Personal Touch
Rebecca is one of the most creative brides I’ve filmed. She poured so much time and energy into making her own dried flower bouquets, centrepieces, and even a stunning half-moon flower arch for the ceremony in the woods. Every detail was thoughtful and personal, from the muted rustic tones with gold highlights to the bridesmaids’ dresses that tied everything together beautifully.
On the morning of the wedding, Duncan wrote Rebecca a heartfelt letter that had everyone in tears and then balanced it out with a gift of a polaroid camera to capture the day in their own way. Bridal prep was full of music, dancing, and happy chaos - exactly the kind of atmosphere you’d hope for.
The Ceremony in the Woods
Harvest Moon’s woodland ceremony space is truly something magical, and it couldn’t have been a more perfect fit for Rebecca and Duncan. With the arch Rebecca designed as the backdrop and surrounded by tall trees, it felt like stepping into a little pocket of calm. Their vows were deeply personal and emotional, and it was clear to everyone there how much love and history these two share.
From Barn to Beach
After the ceremony, the celebrations moved to Harvest Moon’s brand new barn. It’s a big, modern rustic space that feels both stylish and relaxed, and it came alive with all their family and friends. Later, we slipped away for couple’s portraits in the woodland ferns and then later down to the beach. The sky stayed overcast, but the atmosphere was still magical - soft, natural light that suited the day perfectly.
A Party to Remember
When it came to the evening, the dance floor didn’t stay empty for long. Rebecca and her bridal party had even practised a dance that morning, and everyone enjoyed seeing it come to life later in the night. The ceilidh, played by Rock Ceilidh, had everyone up on their feet - twirling and spinning the night away. The speeches earlier in the day had set the tone - heartfelt, funny, and full of stories and love.
Final Thoughts
What stood out to me most about Rebecca and Duncan’s wedding was how much it reflected who they are as a couple: fun, creative, stylish but laid-back, and above all, centred on family, friends, and love. It was a timeless day that felt beautiful in the most natural way - exactly the kind of wedding Harvest Moon is made for.
We love this venue and it was absolutely perfect for these guys. Duncan, Rebecca and all of their family and friends really welcomed both Shona and I with open arms and really made us feel part of their special celebration. This was a day to remember.
