A Fun-Filled, Sunny Wedding at Errol Park, Perthshire | Jess & Alex | 2025.08.02
Jess and Alex’s wedding at Errol Park was one of those days where everything just fell into place - sunshine, laughter, and such a relaxed atmosphere from start to finish. They’re the kind of couple you instantly warm to - fun-loving, friendly, and always looking out for the people around them.
Their story started during lockdown, when Alex moved in with Jess. They filled those strange, in-between weekend days with cooking projects, sunny runs, and an extremely competitive two-person Scrabble league (yes, just the two of them, and no, I didn’t get find out who holds the trophy).
The Setting — Errol Park’s Timeless Charm
Errol Park is such a beautiful venue. It’s a country house estate with stunning gardens and incredible views over the River Tay. The round stables, where Jess and Alex had their dinner and evening reception, are especially unique - you don’t see a space like that very often. Even better, it is just a short drive from where I live!
The weather was on their side too, which meant they could have so much of the day outdoors: the ceremony on the front lawn, drinks on the back lawn, and plenty of space for guests to relax and enjoy the sunshine.
The Day Unfolds
Preparations took place in the elegant rooms of the main house, before guests gathered outside for a heartfelt humanist ceremony led by Brian Hawkins.
The colours were bright and summery, mostly pinks and oranges, which were perfect in such a beautiful day and the flowers by Laura Kemlo at Flowers by the Brae fitted perfectly with the season. I loved how the table names and decorations had been made by family members; those personal touches always make a day feel that bit more special.
The speeches were definitely a highlight. They had everyone laughing and set the tone for the rest of the evening in the stables, where the celebrations continued well into the night.
Golden Hour Magic
For the couple shoot, Jess and Alex took a quiet stroll through the grounds, including a stop in the walled garden just as the setting sun cast a golden glow over everything. It was a moment of calm and connection before the party kicked in.
Filming the Day
I kept things very natural and discreet, blending in so everyone could just enjoy themselves without feeling like they were on camera. I got a few early drone shots to really show off Errol Park’s setting, and during the couple shoot I used a touch of slow motion to bring out the intimacy of the moment without overdoing it.
