A Fun-Filled Wedding at The Engine Works, Glasgow | Lauren & Owain | 2025.07.26
Lauren and Owain’s wedding at The Engine Works was full of everything I love about relaxed wedding days - loads of laughter, a down-to-earth vibe, and a couple who were just clearly enjoying every moment together. It had this really easygoing energy from start to finish, and I felt lucky to be there capturing it all quietly in the background.
What really made the day stand out was how much fun everyone was having - not just the couple, but the whole wedding party. The bridesmaids kept the atmosphere light all day long, and there was this brilliant moment during the confetti toss where everyone got totally involved. It’s that kind of energy that makes a wedding feel alive - the kind of moments that don’t need to be staged, just gently caught on camera as they happen.
Industrial-Chic Meets Modern Romance
The Engine Works is one of those venues that feels a bit like a blank canvas, but in the best possible way. It’s got the industrial look with exposed brick, huge windows, and loads of space. It’s perfect for couples who want something stylish but not overly traditional. For Lauren and Owain, it suited them down to the ground. The venue has this open, relaxed layout that meant everyone could just settle in and enjoy the day without it feeling too formal or structured.
One detail I really liked was their top table. Instead of the usual long setup, they went with something much smaller and more intimate. It’s a little thing, but it made the whole dining space feel a lot more personal and informal.
Despite being right in the city, the canal provides a perfect spot for a quiet couple shoot - which is exactly what Lauren and Owain made the most of.
A Natural, Documentary Feel
My style is always pretty hands-off. I’m there to capture things as they naturally unfold, not to turn the day into a production. And with Lauren and Owain, that approach worked perfectly. They were relaxed in front of the camera, and I think that really comes through in their film.
The couple shoot was one of the quieter parts of the day, and it gave them a chance to just breathe and take it all in. There’s something really nice about those moments - no pressure, just a chance to step away for a bit and enjoy being together. Then, just as quickly, it was back into the fun. The confetti moment especially was a highlight - loads of it flying everywhere, guests laughing and cheering, and the couple right in the middle of it.
There weren’t any huge surprises or dramatic moments, but honestly, that’s what I loved about it - it was a really genuine, happy day

Just a Teaser (But They Loved It!)
Just a couple of days after the wedding, I sent Lauren and Owain a wee teaser film - something short and sweet to help them relive the day while it was all still fresh in their minds. I always try to get something out quickly when I can, and they were absolutely delighted with it. It’s such a nice way to start telling the story before the highlights and full film is ready, and it means a lot to know it landed well.
