A Sunny, Fun-Filled Farm Wedding at Runningburn in the Scottish Borders | Hannah & Grant | 2025.07.12
Some wedding days are just a joy to be part of from start to finish and Hannah and Grant’s laid-back celebration at Runningburn Farm near Kelso was exactly that. Set in the rolling hills of the Scottish Borders with wall-to-wall sunshine, it was full of laughter, easy moments, and the kind of energy that makes you smile behind the camera.
A Fun, Horse-Loving Couple and a Gorgeous Summer’s Day
Hannah and Grant are both in the world of horses, and it shows in the best way. Hannah even started her wedding day with a ride - something that felt so personal and true to her. It was one of the hottest days I’ve ever filmed in Scotland, with hardly a breath of wind, but the couple and their guests took it all in their stride.
Everything about the day felt easy-going, from the bridal prep to the couple’s carefree attitude. Nothing was too serious, and everyone was simply there to enjoy it. This resulted in a very fun, heartfelt celebration that felt just right for them.
The Wedding at Runningburn Farm, Stichill
Runningburn Farm, just outside Kelso, was the perfect laid-back setting for this kind of day - open space, countryside views, and a really relaxed feel. There was a simple handfasting during the ring exchange, which gave a nice nod to tradition without being overly formal.
I loved filming at Runningburn - it’s such a great spot in the Borders for a relaxed, outdoor wedding, especially when the sun decides to show up!
A Natural, Candid Wedding Film
As a wedding videographer, what stood out most was how much fun Hannah and Grant had together. Nothing staged, nothing stiff - just real moments, genuine connection, and loads of laughter. Their couple shoot was one of my favourite parts of the day to film. You could see how comfortable they were with each other, just enjoying a quiet few minutes away from the crowd. Along with their bridal party, @photographyalexmartin and I had great fun with the couple, bridesmaids and groomsmen to get some really fun images of them having a great carry-on together - this lot were up for anything!
This kind of wedding is why I do what I do. As a candid wedding videographer in Scotland, I’m always looking for the moments you’ll actually want to remember. These are the moments that make filming feel less like work and more like documenting something truly special.
