A Relaxed Autumn Wedding at Forbes of Kingennie | Marion & David | 22.11.2025

Bride and groom walking by the pond at Forbes of Kingennie during their autumn wedding

There’s something special about autumn weddings in Scotland, and Marion and David’s day at Forbes of Kingennie Country Resort captured everything I love about this time of year. It was one of those crisp, bright November days where the low sun makes the oranges and golds of the leaves really pop. The perfect backdrop for a relaxed celebration full of warmth, fun, and a whole lot of love.

Morning Prep & A Unique Touch

The day started quietly and gently with morning prep. The bridesmaids brought plenty of laughter to the room, keeping everything light and relaxed. David had a unique twist to his morning too, wearing his military uniform for the first part of the day, which added a really smart, meaningful touch to the film and paired beautifully with the autumn colours.

Marion and David actually met through a fitness class that David was hosting, and there was something really lovely about watching two people who found each other in such a natural way now step into married life together.

A Beautiful Ceremony on a Bright November Day

Forbes of Kingennie always feels picturesque, but the sunlight reflecting off the pond made the whole place look even more special. After the ceremony, the couple’s two dogs arrived for photos, which was easily one of the highlights of the day. They were loving the camera, and it made for some brilliant, heartwarming moments.

Autumn Walks & Quiet Moments by the Loch

One of the things I love most about filming at Forbes of Kingennie is the variety of locations all within a short walk. We wandered around the ponds and lochs, crossed the little bridges, stopped near the boathouse, and found quiet corners among the trees.

The low sun brought out those deep autumn tones, and Marion and David slipped into the couple shoot effortlessly. There was a bit of time pressure, but keeping things calm and natural is exactly where my discreet, handheld style plays to the vibe. I kept chatting to them as I filmed, helping them stay relaxed and enjoy a few quiet moments together and you can really see the softness and connection between them in the final footage.

Speeches, A Poem, and a Relaxed Evening

The reception was just as easygoing and warm as the rest of the day. The speeches began with a poem, which was a lovely touch and set a thoughtful tone before the laughter kicked in.

From there, the evening flowed into dancing and celebrations, with that same relaxed, joyful energy that had been there from the start.

A Day That Felt Like Them

What stood out most about Marion and David’s wedding was how naturally everything unfolded. Nothing felt rushed or overdone. It was just an honest, genuine celebration of two people who are clearly perfect for each other. Their interactions were gentle and close, especially in the quiet moments away from the crowd. You could see the love in their eyes every time they looked at one another.
