Shelby and Callum are one of those couples who instantly put you at ease - friendly, smiley, and so clearly in love. From the moment I arrived at The Engine Works in Glasgow, it was obvious their day was going to be something special. A cold November day outside, but inside - warmth everywhere. Fairy lights, soft shadows, and literally hundreds of candles turning the whole place into the cosiest winter setting.

A Candlelit Ceremony & The Softest Winter Light

The Engine Works is already a stunning space, but seeing it lit almost entirely by candlelight and a few strings of fairy lights made it feel even more atmospheric. That combination of industrial character and soft, flickering light created the perfect backdrop for a relaxed winter wedding.

One thing I noticed throughout the day was how naturally Shelby smiles - the kind of smile that’s completely unposed and genuinely infectious. It made capturing her reactions during the ceremony and speeches an absolute joy.

Fun, Laughter & A Room Full of Love

The speeches were a perfect mix of heartfelt and fun, and the candlelit room made them feel even more intimate. Guests were laughing constantly, and the warm glow bouncing around the exposed brickwork added so much depth to every moment. It’s always lovely when a room feels full of personality, and this one truly did.

From start to finish, the whole day flowed effortlessly. No rushing, no pressure - just a couple enjoying themselves and a room full of people who clearly adore them. As someone who works in a discreet, documentary style, days like this feel like such a gift.
For me, one of the standout memories was simply how the venue looked once it got dark. The Engine Works always has a bit of magic to it, but with hundreds of candles lighting the room, it felt even more spectacular than usual.
