A Windy & Joyful Glasgow Wedding | Gillian & Liam | 04.10.2025

Romantic moment as the couple kiss under the Glasgow University cloisters, with soft autumn light and wind.

On 4th October 2025, I had the privilege of filming a wedding that embraced the tail end of Storm Amy at Glasgow University Chapel and Cottiers, West End. The wind whipped through the cloisters, the sky roared outside, yet inside was warmth, laughter and a party that had everyone dancing all night.

About the Wedding

Gillian and Liam’s vision was simple: have a day that felt like them. Their wedding day was full of fun, energy and emotional moments sprinkled throughout. What struck me most was the closeness in the room: family and friends who shared inside jokes and genuine joy all day long.

The storm gave us a few tempestuous moments, particularly during the couple’s shoot under the cloisters, but it also added beautiful drama to the footage. By the time we got to Cottiers, that wild wind outside felt like a distant memory. What remained was the music, the dancefloor, and people lost in celebration.

Glasgow University Chapel & The Cloisters

This venue brought a sense of grandeur and timeless architecture. The tall ceilings, the light and the echo all combined to make moments feel cinematic and eternal. The cloisters, despite the gusts, gave us those frames with motion and atmosphere that really elevate a film.

Cottiers, West End

Cottiers is one of those places that wears its character on its sleeve. The dancefloor is alive from the first song, and the space feels intimate even when packed. It’s the kind of venue where guests forget everything else and just step into the party.

The Couple & Their Day

Gillian and Liam have a playful, easygoing energy. They laughed through the wind, loved every moment, and made the day their own. There was no pressure, no forced poses, just two people soaking it all in. The day mirrored who they are: warm, full of heart, and ready to celebrate with the people they love.

The Party & Energy

The reception at Cottiers roared to life. The dancefloor didn’t rest. Every moment was alive: people singing, dancing, laughing. The night felt timeless because it was full of great people, energy and joy. It’s one of those weddings where no one wanted it to end.
