Josie and David take a quiet moment together in the beautiful Perthshire countryside, surrounded by golden barley fields. This romantic portrait captures the relaxed, natural feel of their wedding day at Rossie on the Earn.

Rossie on the Earn provided the perfect setting for Josie & David’s wedding day. Set in the beautiful Perthshire countryside, it’s one of my favourite Scottish wedding venues, with its relaxed atmosphere, beautiful surroundings and incredible spaces for celebrating with family and friends.

Some weddings stand out because of the venue, some because of the styling, and some simply because of the people at the heart of the day. Josie & David’s wedding was one of those days where everything came together perfectly.

From the gorgeous flowers and thoughtful décor to the little details and carefully considered moments throughout the day, it was clear just how much thought they had put into creating a wedding that felt completely personal to them.

But more than anything, what made this wedding so special was Josie & David themselves. They are genuinely two of the sweetest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting, and it was such a privilege to spend the day with them. Their family and friends were equally lovely, creating such a warm and welcoming atmosphere from the moment I arrived.

Morning Preparations

The day began with the excitement of getting ready surrounded by family and friends.

There was a lovely sense of anticipation throughout the morning, with all those little moments that make wedding preparations so enjoyable to capture — the finishing touches, the laughter, the nerves and the excitement building towards the ceremony.

The beautiful styling by Inspired Weddings was already beginning to bring the day together, with gorgeous florals and décor creating a setting that felt elegant, warm and incredibly considered.

Working alongside Sinead Firman Photography was also a real pleasure. Having a relaxed and friendly supplier team makes such a difference on a wedding day, allowing everything to unfold naturally while capturing all those moments as they happen.

A Beautiful Ceremony at Rossie on the Earn

With their family and friends gathered around them, Josie & David’s ceremony was filled with all the emotion you would hope for from such an important moment.

There was something particularly lovely about seeing two people who are so naturally warm and kind surrounded by so many people who clearly mean the world to them.

For me, these are some of the most rewarding moments to capture on a wedding day. Rather than directing everything, I love being able to step back and let things happen naturally — the smiles, the laughter, the nerves and those little glances between a couple that often say more than words.

Rossie on the Earn is one of my favourite places to film for exactly this reason. There are so many beautiful spaces around the venue, while the relaxed feel of the setting allows couples and their guests to simply enjoy being together.

Confetti, Drinks & Time Together

After the ceremony came the celebrations, with congratulations, hugs, laughter and plenty of time for Josie & David to enjoy being newly married.

The thoughtful styling and incredible florals continued throughout the day, creating beautiful details to capture alongside the more spontaneous moments happening around them.

One of my favourite things about wedding films is being able to preserve not just the big moments, but the atmosphere surrounding them.

A friend making someone laugh. A proud parent watching from the side. A quick hug between family members. A couple taking a quiet moment together amongst the excitement.

These are the moments that can be easy to forget, but years later they can become some of the most precious parts of a wedding film.

A Beautifully Thought-Out Reception

As everyone came together for the meal and speeches, it was clear just how much thought Josie & David had put into every part of their day.

Nothing felt rushed or overly formal. Instead, the whole celebration had a wonderful sense of warmth and personality, with plenty of opportunities for everyone to relax, eat, drink and enjoy being together.

The beautiful florals and décor from Inspired Weddings helped create a stunning backdrop for the reception, while Breaking Bread Catering looked after everyone throughout the meal.

It was one of those weddings where all the individual elements worked together beautifully without ever taking away from what the day was really about — Josie & David and the people they love.

Music, Dancing & Celebrating

As the evening celebrations got underway, the atmosphere shifted into full party mode.

The Cello and Piano Duo from Rosewood Strings provided beautiful live music during the day before Night Jar took over for the evening celebrations.

There’s always something special about seeing a wedding reception gradually transform as the evening goes on. The formalities are finished, everyone has relaxed and suddenly the dance floor becomes the centre of attention.

For a wedding film, these moments bring so much energy and personality. The laughter gets louder, the dancing gets less restrained and everyone is simply enjoying themselves.

One of My Favourite Weddings at Rossie on the Earn

Looking back at Josie & David’s wedding, it’s difficult to pick just one thing that made it memorable.

The venue was beautiful. The flowers were incredible. Every detail had clearly been thought through.

But ultimately, it was the people that made this day so special.

Josie & David were genuinely wonderful to spend the day with, and their family and friends were every bit as lovely. There was such a strong sense of love and connection throughout the whole celebration, and it was a genuine privilege to be there to capture it.

This is exactly what I love about filming weddings. The finished film isn't just a record of how the day looked — it's a way of remembering how it felt.

A Beautiful Scottish Wedding

Josie & David’s wedding at Rossie on the Earn was a perfect example of what makes Scottish weddings so special.

Beautiful surroundings, incredible suppliers, great food and music, but most importantly, a room full of people who genuinely care about each other.

Josie & David, thank you so much for inviting me to be part of your wedding day. You were both an absolute pleasure to spend the day with, and I hope your wedding film brings back all the laughter, emotion and happiness of the day for many years to come.
