An American & Scottish Love Story | Dundas Castle, Edinburgh | Rhianne & Jack | 24.06.2026

Bride and groom sharing a quiet moment in the gardens at Dundas Castle during their summer wedding in Scotland.

Set against the stunning backdrop of Dundas Castle, just outside Edinburgh, Rhianne and Jack were treated to one of those rare Scottish summer days where the sun never seemed to disappear. From guests enjoying drinks in the castle grounds to a golden evening that seemed to last forever, it couldn't have been a better setting for such a special day. Their very own Scottish fairytale wedding.

A Love Story That Started Over Ping Pong

Rhianne and Jack's story began in London after meeting at Bounce, a ping pong bar where neither of them could have known a quick game would eventually lead them here.

With Rhianne from Scotland and Jack from America, their wedding was a wonderful coming together of two families from opposite sides of the Atlantic. It also marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter, with the couple preparing to make the move to America together after the wedding.

Throughout the day there was such a relaxed atmosphere. They took the day at their own pace, allowing everyone to simply enjoy being together and celebrate with the couple.

Dundas Castle in the Sunshine

As a Scottish wedding videographer, Dundas Castle is always a venue I enjoy returning to. It offers everything from grand interiors and elegant ceremony spaces, including the Great Hall in the Keep, to beautiful gardens and views that come alive in the evening light.

The sunshine meant guests were able to make the most of the grounds throughout the day, while the warm evening created the perfect opportunity to sneak away for a few quiet moments with Rhianne and Jack before they returned to celebrate with everyone else.

Those relaxed couple portraits, without taking them away from their guests for long, are often some of my favourite moments to capture.

A Day Full of Personality

One of the things I loved most about this wedding was how personal it felt.

From heartfelt speeches and plenty of laughter to incredible food from Heritage Portfolio, live music from Kilter and some brilliant entertainment from magician Cameron Young, there was always something happening without the day ever feeling over-planned.

It's exactly the kind of wedding I love filming - natural moments unfolding as they happen, surrounded by the people who matter most.

A Wedding Film to Look Back On

My approach has always been to create wedding films that feel timeless rather than overly cinematic. I want couples to watch their film years from now and be transported back to how the day actually felt.

For Rhianne and Jack, that means remembering the excitement of seeing each other for the first time, the Scottish sunshine that everyone will be talking about for years, and the beginning of a brand-new adventure together.

Rhianne and Jack, thank you for trusting me to capture your wedding day. It was such a pleasure to be part of it, and I wish you both every happiness as you begin married life together in America.
