Alison and Iain’s wedding day on the Ayrshire coast had such an easygoing, joyful atmosphere from beginning to end. Two people completely wrapped up in the excitement of finally getting married, surrounded by family, friends and a brilliant team of suppliers who helped bring everything together so beautifully.

From the emotional moments during the morning preparations to the celebrations late into the evening, the whole day felt warm, relaxed and full of personality. Lochgreen House Hotel was the perfect setting for it all, it was elegant with a lovely balance of coastal calm and classic Scottish country house charm.

A Beautiful Wedding at Lochgreen House Hotel

Lochgreen House Hotel is such a brilliant venue for couples looking for a relaxed but elegant wedding in Scotland. Set just outside Troon on the Ayrshire coast, it has beautiful gardens, stunning interiors and loads of space for guests to properly settle in and enjoy the day.

The soft coastal light around Lochgreen always works beautifully on film, and even on quieter moments throughout the day there’s this calm atmosphere around the venue that really suits a natural, documentary style approach.

Alison and Iain made the most of that relaxed setting. There was no rushing around or overly structured feel to the day, just a lot of laughter, people catching up, music playing and everyone genuinely enjoying being together.

A Morning Full of Excitement

The morning preparations had such a lovely energy. Alison and her bridal party spent the morning getting ready surrounded by flowers, music and plenty of laughter, while Iain and the groomsmen brought a calm, relaxed vibe to the start of the day.

The flowers by @mudurbanflowers @mudweddings added so much warmth and texture throughout the wedding, fitting perfectly with the elegant surroundings of Lochgreen House Hotel. Alison’s dress from @gwenne_weddings was timeless and understated, while the kilts from @houstonkiltmakers brought that classic Scottish feel to the day.

Hair by @cherrycherryhair_byloredana and makeup by @fionapark.mua gave everything such a beautiful, natural look, exactly the kind of style that photographs and films perfectly.

Relaxed Moments by the Coast

One of my favourite parts of the day was stepping away with Alison and Iain for a quiet wander outside while guests enjoyed drinks back at the venue. Nothing too staged or overly posed, just a chance for them to slow down for a few minutes together and properly take it all in.

That’s always the part of the day I love most to capture. Real interaction, natural movement and those small moments that genuinely feel like them.

The Ayrshire coast has such a timeless feel for weddings, especially when paired with venues like Lochgreen. Even when the Scottish weather keeps you guessing a little, it always seems to add atmosphere rather than take anything away.

Music, Dancing & A Brilliant Evening Atmosphere

As the evening celebrations got underway, the atmosphere lifted even further. @fiddle.castro kept the dancefloor busy all night and brought so much energy to the evening celebrations, while the bagpipes by Callum added that unmistakable Scottish wedding atmosphere earlier in the day.

It never felt like a wedding where people were waiting around for the “next thing” to happen. The whole day flowed naturally, exactly the kind of relaxed celebration that makes for such meaningful memories later on.

A Relaxed Scottish Wedding by the Sea

Iain and Alison’s wedding was a perfect reminder that the best wedding days don’t need to feel overly produced or complicated. It was elegant, emotional, relaxed and full of genuine moments. Being married by Alison’s father in the church that is so special to the family, Portland Church of Scotland in Troon, made it the kind of day that people will still talk about years from now.

If you’re planning a wedding at Lochgreen House Hotel, or anywhere on the Ayrshire coast, and you’re looking for a relaxed Scottish wedding videographer with a natural, unobtrusive approach, I’d love to hear more about your plans.
